A plain-language explanation of what happens when you use Analyze My Insta.
Last updated: August 4, 2026
At a glance
Analyze My Insta is designed to analyze an Instagram data export in your browser. Your ZIP file, its contents, usernames, follower lists, and analysis results are processed locally on your device. We do not upload them to our servers.
Who is responsible
Analyze My Insta operates this website. For privacy questions or requests, contact us at info@analyzemyinsta.eu.
Data processed in your browser
When you select an Instagram export, the app reads and compares the files on your device to show the requested results. The export is not sent to Analyze My Insta, our CMS, Google, Microsoft, or another service provider. Clearing the page or closing the tab removes the in-memory analysis data.
Do not upload a file unless you are authorized to use it. Instagram data can contain personal information about you and other people.
Essential operational counts
To operate and improve the core analyzer, we record aggregate counts when the site is visited and when a ZIP analysis is selected, started, completed, rejected, or fails. For operational attribution, we also process a random per-tab session token kept in session storage and stored as a server-side hash, the first page visited, the referring domain, campaign tags, and broad device type. We do not store IP addresses, full referrer URLs, full user agents, ZIP contents, Instagram usernames, follower lists, or analysis results. This operational data is not used to track you across websites.
Site administrators can exclude their browser from these counts in Cookie settings. The choice is stored locally in the necessary preference cookie.
Optional analytics
We use analytics only if you choose to allow them in the cookie banner or settings panel. With consent, Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity may collect information about your use of the website, such as pages viewed, device and browser information, approximate location derived from IP address, and interactions with the interface.
With the same consent, we may send optional first-party content events to our CMS, such as the current site language and article interactions. These events do not include ZIP contents, Instagram usernames, follower lists, or analysis results.
You can withdraw or change your choice at any time through .
Cookies and similar technologies
We store your cookie preference in a strictly necessary cookie. Optional analytics cookies are set only after you opt in. Read the Cookie policy for the names, purposes, and choices available to you.
Service providers and international transfers
If you consent to analytics, Google and Microsoft process analytics data under their own privacy terms and may process data outside your country. We use these services to understand aggregated website use, not to receive your Instagram export data.
Retention
Your local ZIP analysis is not retained by us. Cookie preferences are stored for up to 180 days unless you change or clear them. Analytics retention is managed in the relevant provider account and may vary according to the provider's settings.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive information about personal data we process. You can withdraw analytics consent at any time without affecting processing before withdrawal. Contact us to make a request. You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the website, its data practices, or applicable law changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
